Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineering Technologist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the inspection of mechanical installations and construction projects, designing tools, moulds, jigs, and fixtures, and preparing and interpreting engineering design, drawings, and specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the inspection of mechanical installations and construction projects to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Design and develop tools, moulds, jigs, and fixtures to improve manufacturing efficiency and product quality.
  • Prepare and interpret engineering design, drawings, and specifications to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Test machines and equipment to ensure they meet performance and safety standards.
  • Assist in the design and fabrication of experimental apparatus to support research and development projects.
  • Install electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, lighting fixtures, and other electrical components to ensure safe and efficient electrical systems.
Requirements
  • Eligibility for certification by a provincial or territorial association.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical wiring devices and systems.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Word.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to distinguish between colors.
  • Combination of sitting, standing, and walking.
  • Steel-toed safety boots required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a consulting engineering company or manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of machinery and components, steam, condensation, and water systems, and custom fabrication.
  • Basic security clearance and criminal record check.
