We are currently seeking a Specimen Collection Specialist to become part of our dedicated team.

As a Specimen Collection Specialist, your primary responsibility will be managing the specimen collection process, which includes welcoming patients and preparing specimens for transportation. This role is vital in patient care and our operations, allowing you to witness the positive impact you have on patients' lives. This is a Part-Time position (up to 20 hours).

Flexibility to work Monday through Sunday from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM is required. Depending on operational needs, the successful candidate may occasionally be asked to work in different regions. The ideal candidate must demonstrate strong teamwork skills and punctuality.

In this position, you will:

  • Welcome patients, gather necessary information, explain the specimen collection process, and ensure compliance with required test protocols.
  • Conduct phlebotomies, connect/disconnect Holter monitors, and perform ECG tracings.
  • Carry out specialized test collections, including medical/legal drug screenings, paternity tests, and clinical trials, while completing the necessary documentation.
  • Maintain client relationships by responding to inquiries and following up on requests.
  • Perform data entry for patient demographics, requisition details, and other information pertinent to processing test results.
  • Prepare specimens for transportation and testing.

The ideal candidate will prioritize exceptional customer and patient service, demonstrating the ability to connect with patients and clients even in challenging situations. Key attributes include: empathy, adaptability, flexibility, and problem-solving skills. Additional requirements include:

  • Graduation from an accredited Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent.
  • Experience in phlebotomy.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Proficient computer skills with a minimum typing speed of 40 words per minute.
  • Commitment to maintaining the highest standards of patient privacy and confidentiality.

Compensation Range:

The compensation range has been established, but the final salary will be determined based on experience, educational qualifications, external market conditions, and internal equity.
