Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Brand and Marketing Strategy Manager, you will play a crucial role in supporting the creation and execution of diverse marketing communication strategies and initiatives established by SEATAC, aligned with the overarching branding and marketing objectives of NSCC. SEATAC, a division of the Nova Scotia Community College, offers organizations in the ocean technology sector access to specialized research tools, facilities, and expertise.

Your work will encompass a variety of projects, including traditional and digital marketing campaigns, as well as associated communication efforts aimed at:

  • Enhancing SEATAC's visibility among both internal (NSCC) and external stakeholders as a leading provider of ocean research and development solutions.
  • Showcasing positive collaborations between SEATAC and other NSCC business units.
  • Contributing to the overall branding and marketing objectives of NSCC.

Required Qualifications

Educational Background and Experience:

  • A minimum of a college diploma in fields such as marketing, business, communications, public relations, or a related discipline.
  • At least two years of relevant professional experience in a research setting, which includes outreach communications, event planning, and engagement with various media platforms.
  • Experience with web publishing and content management systems.
  • Proven ability to provide marketing and communication support for events.
  • Experience in a post-secondary research environment, particularly within a Canadian college, is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with federal and provincial research funding agencies is a plus.
  • Proficient in computer applications, including the Microsoft Office Suite, for effective internal and external communication.
  • Comfortable in a digital workspace, demonstrating a commitment to staying updated with technological advancements.
  • Strong skills in records and information management, particularly in designing promotional materials.
