Payroll Operations Specialist

Position Overview:
We are looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Operations Specialist to oversee the comprehensive payroll process. This role involves ensuring precision and adherence to all applicable regulations. You will collaborate with various departments, including HR and site management, to address discrepancies and enhance payroll procedures.
Primary Responsibilities:
Timecard Assessment: Scrutinize and validate employee timecards through the Time and Attendance system. Address inconsistencies by coordinating with site managers and HR. Data Integration: Input timecard information into the Human Capital Management (HCM) system. Earnings Confirmation: Confirm earnings and implement adjustments for garnishments, gratuities, retroactive pay, taxable benefits, union dues, and other irregular deductions or pay modifications. Payroll Execution: Execute payroll within the HCM system and produce direct deposit files. Documentation Management: Create and maintain payroll documentation, records, and files in accordance with regulatory standards. Benefit Revisions: Prepare necessary adjustments for benefit arrears. Database Oversight: Manage the payroll database, identify discrepancies, and collaborate with HR to resolve issues. Ensure a physical file system is maintained as a backup. Effective Communication: Maintain clear communication with all relevant operational departments and foster strong relationships with team members and regulatory bodies. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with CRA, HRDC, Health and Safety, and other statutory regulations. Process Enhancement: Identify challenges within the payroll process and suggest procedural or system improvements to boost accuracy and efficiency. Inquiry Management: Address and resolve payroll inquiries from both internal and external sources. Additional Responsibilities: Undertake other duties as assigned or directed.Education and Qualifications:
High School Diploma; post-secondary education in payroll or a relevant combination of education and experience is advantageous. Canadian Payroll Association certification is a plus. At least 3 years of experience in high-volume payroll processing. Familiarity with Oracle HCM Cloud is beneficial. Experience with Time and Attendance systems (Kronos, Virtual Roster, or similar) is preferred. Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel at an intermediate level.-
