Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Process Mechanical Engineer to join our team at GHD. As a key member of our Mechanical Design division, you will be responsible for leading and supervising the creation of mechanical system designs, managing drawing and 3D model production, and coordinating hydraulic and stress analyses for critical piping systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze client technical specifications and mechanical engineering requirements
  • Lead and supervise the creation of mechanical system designs and manage drawing and 3D model production
  • Coordinate hydraulic and stress analyses for critical piping systems
  • Create, review, and assume accountability for contract documentation and specifications related to process mechanical requisites
  • Collaborate with core discipline teams and internal/external stakeholders to align and accomplish project goals efficiently
  • Act as a mentor to team members, offering guidance to both junior engineers and engineering technicians
  • Ensure clear and concise technical communication with stakeholders at varying management levels
  • Regularly engage with clients, vendors, and contractors to maintain effective communication

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Applied Science in Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum of 10 years of industry experience, preferably with a focus on municipal and industrial water/wastewater facilities
  • Experience in designing large wastewater pumping stations for municipal areas
  • Background in project management is advantageous
  • Proficiency in BIM 360, REVIT, AutoCAD, and NavisWorks is a plus
  • Adaptability to handle diverse client requirements and project types
  • Strong analytical, mechanical, and problem-solving abilities
  • Capability to lead and multitask within a team environment with acute attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey technical information to various audiences
  • Hold a valid Ontario driver's license and be open to travel within Ontario and Canada as needed
