The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting our clients in all phases of the design process, from functional planning and conceptual layout through to detailed design and construction support. Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection, for vertical infrastructure projects
  • Preparing contract drawings and specifications in conjunction with the project team
  • Documenting study progress and results through the preparation of memos, minutes, and reports
  • Liaising with clients to exchange information regarding project progress
  • Utilizing Revit to create and maintain building mechanical models, drawings, and schedules
  • Developing designs that meet client requirements and adhere to a high standard of form, fit, function, appearance, and quality
  • Identifying discrepancies in drawings and information and resolving them through appropriate methods and channels
  • Preparing site visit reports by interpreting findings and providing clear recommendations and direction to clients
  • Reviewing shop drawings and design details for continuity and viability

The ideal candidate will possess a technologist diploma in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience, with strong proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit 3D modeling. Prior experience in mechanical systems, specifically related to industrial, institutional, and commercial buildings, is an asset. Strong knowledge of building services, HVAC, plumbing, and drainage, as well as fire protection, is also required. Experience with quality control and production scheduling is preferred. The ability to liaise with clients, manage multiple deadlines, and work effectively in a rapidly shifting work environment is essential.
