Nursing Care Support Worker Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Nursing Care Support Worker to join our team at GEM Health Care Group. As a Nursing Care Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our residents in a nursing home setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist residents with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Prepare and serve meal trays, and assist with feeding residents as needed.
  • Weigh, lift, turn, and position residents with care and attention to detail.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment for residents, including their rooms and common areas.
  • Respond to call signals and determine residents' needs, providing assistance and support as required.
  • Work collaboratively with the care team to ensure residents receive comprehensive care and support.
Requirements:
  • Education: Other trades certificate or diploma.
  • Experience: An asset, but not required.
  • Work setting: Nursing home/home for the aged.
  • Security and safety: Criminal record check, immunization records, and tuberculosis test.
  • Transportation/travel information: Travel expenses not paid by employer.
  • Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment, work under pressure, repetitive tasks, physically demanding, attention to detail, standing for extended periods, combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending, crouching, kneeling, and walking.
  • Weight handling: More than 45 kg (100 lbs).
  • Personal suitability: Client focus, dependability, efficient interpersonal skills, excellent oral communication, flexibility, initiative, interpersonal awareness, organized, reliability, and team player.
