Warehouse Associate Responsibilities:

  • Precisely match alphanumeric characters
  • Effectively stage and categorize items for loading
  • Facilitate the loading and unloading of transport vehicles
  • Open and close loading dock entrances
  • Uphold a tidy and secure working environment
  • Sort and position components in designated storage areas
  • Engage in manual dock chain operations
  • Organize cardboard boxes and pallets
  • Transport materials throughout the warehouse
  • Adhere to all safety protocols
  • Package or kit finished goods for dispatch (including shrink wrapping, boxing, and labeling)
  • Utilize a warehouse management system to electronically scan items
  • Conduct quality assurance checks
  • Identify and remove damaged goods upon receipt
  • Complete daily activity logs
  • Coordinate with team members from different shifts
  • Attach identification tags to containers or mark them with relevant information
  • Interpret work orders or receive verbal instructions to ascertain work assignments and material needs
  • Document the quantity of units handled and moved using production sheets or work tickets
  • Construct product containers and crates using hand tools and pre-cut materials
  • Pack and re-pack containers as necessary
  • Review production schedules, customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed
  • Sort and store perishable items in temperature-controlled areas
  • Fulfill requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distribute to production personnel or assembly lines
  • Assemble customer orders from inventory and position orders on pallets or shelves, or convey them to packing or shipping departments
  • Weigh or count items for distribution within the facility to ensure compliance with company standards
  • Utilize computers to maintain records
  • Prepare packages for mailing
  • Maintain inventory documentation
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and various warehouse machinery (where applicable)
  • Transport stored items from the warehouse to the plant or retrieve items from multiple locations for shipment using forklifts or pallet jacks (where applicable)
  • Engage in additional projects and tasks as directed by supervisors
