Position Summary:

We are currently seeking a Feeder Replacement NDE Technician - Lead to contribute to our operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all Non-Destructive Evaluation (NDE) activities associated with Feeder Replacement, including Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Radiography (RT), and Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT).
  • Engage in project estimation and planning, ensuring all NDE tools are maintained and operational.
  • Schedule and provide training for contract personnel, leading the NDE team during site execution, which may involve significant travel.
  • Coordinate with project management to lead estimating activities related to NDE.
  • Participate actively in the execution of feeder replacement outages, serving as the UT Specialist.
  • Maintain control over NDE tools, forecasting equipment needs and managing inventory.
  • Collaborate with site management to prioritize work and meet deliverables.
  • Conduct NDE inspections, verifying and reporting results against established standards.
  • Uphold quality and safety standards while ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and lead training for contract personnel.
  • Prepare necessary NDE documentation for outage execution and manage staffing and scheduling in conjunction with vendors.
  • Support inspection qualification activities and provide hands-on assistance during site preparations.
  • Assist with other scopes of work as needed when Feeder Replacement activities are not in progress.

Qualifications:

  • Technician/Technologist diploma in electrical, mechanical, or NDE discipline, complemented by a minimum of five years of relevant experience, including supervisory roles.
  • Certification as CGSB UT Level 2 Technician; RT and PT methods are advantageous.
  • Possession of PAUT and TOFD certificates is beneficial.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the scope and limitations of qualified NDE methods.
  • Willingness to travel up to 75% for site work.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in managing and reviewing the work of others.
  • Experience in managing equipment inventories and performing maintenance on tools.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to resolve conflicts effectively.
  • Advanced capabilities in conducting testing to ensure quality and detect defects using NDE methods.
  • Experience in problem-solving and root cause analysis.
  • Previous supervisory experience is essential.
