Plant Operator

Cenovus is seeking a skilled Plant Operator to join our Thermal Spruce Lake organization. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our facility, which includes water treating, high pressure steam generation, sour oil wells, and oil treating facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate the facility in a safe and effective manner, working collaboratively with the operating team
- Maintain and troubleshoot area-specific equipment to optimize performance and meet production targets
- Perform condition monitoring, including sampling and testing, and complete area operations records
- Support operations-performed maintenance activities and communicate company requirements to on-site maintenance contractors
- Provide assistance, mentorship, and on-the-job training to new employees
- Align with all HS&E requirements and High Reliability Organization standards
Requirements:
- Legally authorized to work in Canada
- Minimum 3rd Class Power Engineering certificate, with preference for candidates progressing towards 2nd Class certification
- Minimum 3 years of experience in operating steam generating equipment, control panels, oil processing, and/or well equipment and associated systems
- Experience in the oil and gas industry, with equipment isolation, safe work permitting, and hazard analysis
- Proficiency with computers, including SAP and field data capture systems
- Ability to work in a team environment with strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
