Composite Operator

Job Summary:

The Composite Operator is a key member of our team responsible for using hand tools in lamination to build and fabricate fiberglass parts. This role requires attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare materials and molds for composite production
  • Use various manufacturing techniques, such as hand lay-up and vacuum infusion
  • Trim, sand, and finish composite components
  • Follow safety procedures and quality standards
  • Collaborate with colleagues to meet production targets and deadlines
  • Inspect parts after de-molding for any non-conformities
  • Cut required fiberglass materials to the proper size and shape
  • Use, maintain, and repair pneumatic equipment and tools
  • Provide support and adhere to all Lean and 5s initiatives
  • Document non-conformities and submit reports to authorized personnel

Requirements:

  • Prior experience in composite manufacturing is preferred
  • Knowledge of composite materials and manufacturing techniques is essential
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Experience with various hand tools, such as pneumatic, electric, and manual tools
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving abilities
  • Basic computer skills
  • Strong willingness to learn and develop new skills
