Job Summary:

The Composite Operator will be responsible for using hand tools to build and fabricate fiberglass parts, working closely with our production team to meet quality and productivity standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare materials and molds for composite production, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Use various manufacturing techniques, such as hand lay-up and vacuum infusion, to produce high-quality composite components.
  • Trim, sand, and finish composite components to meet quality standards.
  • Follow safety procedures and quality standards to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to meet production targets and deadlines, promoting a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement.
  • Inspect parts after demolding for any non-conformities, using rulers, micrometers, and visual checks to ensure quality.
  • Cut required fiberglass materials to the proper size and shape using dies, templates, and cutout patterns.
  • Use, maintain, and repair pneumatic equipment, such as spray guns, drills, and polishers, as well as other tools and attachments.
  • Provide support and adhere to all Lean and 5S initiatives, promoting a culture of efficiency and productivity.
  • Document all non-conformities on a Corrective and Preventive Action Report and submit the form to authorized personnel.
Requirements:
  • Prior experience in composite manufacturing is preferred.
  • Knowledge of composite materials and manufacturing techniques is essential.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment, promoting a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Experience with various hand tools, such as pneumatic, electric, and manual tools.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work with minimal supervision.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Strong willingness to learn and develop new skills.
