POSITION SUMMARY

In the role of Project Manager, you will report to the Director of the Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO) and will have the authority to lead transformation initiatives across all Gowling WLG locations. You will be responsible for educating project stakeholders on the EPMO framework and the roles and responsibilities associated with the project team.

The EPMO is a high-performing team that fosters collaboration across all departments to achieve the firm's business goals through effective project execution.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee the complete lifecycle of assigned projects, including initiation, planning, execution, transition, and closure, adhering to the EPMO's established processes and methodologies.
  • Define project objectives, scope, and deliverables in collaboration with key stakeholders to support business needs.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans detailing objectives, expected benefits, scope, approach, risks, assumptions, budget, team structure, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Manage signoff protocols throughout the project lifecycle and monitor project milestones and deliverables.
  • Generate regular status updates and provide insights on GANTT charts, escalations, risk management, and financial tracking using the EPMO's project portfolio management tool.
  • Conduct post-project evaluations to identify lessons learned and formulate recommendations for future projects.
  • Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of the EPMO methodology by integrating new tools, techniques, and innovative ideas.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 8-10 years of experience as a Project Manager, preferably within a professional services context.
  • Certification in project management from an accredited institution (PMP or Prince 2 certification preferred).
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, time management, and leadership capabilities.
  • Excellent stakeholder and relationship management skills.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proven experience managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders across various business units and locations.
  • Commitment to delivering outstanding client service.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project, or any project portfolio management tool.
