Revenue Recovery Specialist

The Government of Nunavut is seeking a highly skilled Collections Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our Revenue Recovery department, you will be responsible for leading the collection process for utility accounts across the territory.

• Coordinate the collection of large residential and commercial utility accounts, including those held by the territorial government and local businesses.
• Review aged accounts receivable, contact delinquent customers, and negotiate payment arrangements.
• Initiate collection correspondence and negotiate repayment arrangements with clients.
• Conduct investigations for problematic accounts and analyze billing data to ensure accuracy.
• Review inactive accounts and apply customer deposits or credits to outstanding accounts.
• Inform the Manager, Billings and Collections of disputed or delinquent accounts and recommend remedial action.

• Post-secondary diploma in accounting, finance, business administration, or related discipline.
• Five years of experience in collections in a customer service environment.
• Two years of experience in supervision and staff development.

• Professional designation as a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) or related certification.
• Knowledge of Nunavut, its land, language, and culture.
• Ability to communicate in Inuktitut, Inuinnaqtun, and/or French.

A competitive salary range of $98,014.44 to $114,488.13 per year, a northern living allowance of $18,517.00 per annum, and a comprehensive benefits package including a defined benefit pension program and subsidized staff housing.

Preference will be given to Nunavut Inuit.
