Job Summary:

The Government of Nunavut is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Collections Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our Revenue Recovery team, you will be responsible for leading the collection process for utility accounts across the territory.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the collection of utility accounts from residential and commercial clients, including government and municipal entities.
  • Review and analyze aged accounts receivable, identify delinquent customers, and negotiate payment arrangements.
  • Initiate collection correspondence and negotiate repayment plans with clients.
  • Conduct investigations into problematic accounts and analyze billing data to ensure accuracy.
  • Review inactive accounts and apply customer deposits or credits to outstanding balances.
  • Inform the Manager, Revenue Recovery of disputed or delinquent accounts and recommend remedial action.

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary diploma in accounting, finance, or business administration.
  • Five years of experience in collections in a customer service environment.
  • Two years of experience in supervising and developing staff.

Assets:

  • Professional designation as a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) or related certification.
  • Knowledge of Nunavut's land, language, and culture.
  • Ability to communicate in Inuktitut, Inuinnaqtun, and/or French.
