About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Framing Carpenter to join our team at U.KTIONS INC. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of workmanship in the framing and installation of wood structures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Measure, Cut, and Assemble Materials: Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials to construct and install building frames, walls, and roofs.
  • Build Foundations and Install Floor Beams: Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems to ensure a sturdy and secure structure.
  • Install Windows, Doors, and Stairs: Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware to complete the building envelope.
  • Train and Mentor Apprentices: Instruct apprentices in the skills and techniques required for framing and carpentry work.
  • Estimate Costs and Materials: Estimate costs and materials required for projects, ensuring that all necessary materials are on hand and that projects are completed within budget.
  • Maintain and Repair Structures: Maintain, repair, and renovate residences and wooden structures in various settings, including mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants, and other establishments.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Work Setting: Construction, various locations, renovation, commercial, and residential.
  • Physical Capabilities: Bending, crouching, kneeling, combination of sitting, standing, walking, handling heavy loads, large workload, overtime required, physically demanding, and tight deadlines.
  • Personal Suitability: Accurate, client focus, judgement, reliability, team player, and punctuality.
  • Experience: 1 to less than 7 months, permanent employment, English language, and 35 hours per week.
