Job Description: Data Analytics Consultant

As a Data Analytics Consultant, you will play a vital role in leveraging data to drive informed decision-making across the organization. You will work closely with various business units to identify key performance indicators (KPIs), analyze trends, and develop actionable insights.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive reporting and analytics services, utilizing diverse data sources to enhance decision-making processes.
  • Adhere to established enterprise data standards, guidelines, and best practices to ensure data integrity and consistency.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the Data and Analytics team by identifying opportunities to enhance data availability and quality.
  • Develop sophisticated data models to quantify business performance and evaluate the impact of operational changes.
  • Interpret complex datasets, identify relevant analyses, and uncover valuable use cases for data-driven decision-making.
  • Monitor trends over time and generate actionable insights that support the proactive management of business operations.
  • Effectively communicate findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences through clear and concise presentations.
  • Maintain strict adherence to legal guidelines regarding confidential and sensitive information.
  • Execute tasks with a moderate level of guidance and direction, demonstrating initiative and problem-solving skills.
  • Collaborate with other analytical teams across the organization and participate in special projects to leverage data for organizational growth.
  • Build interactive dashboards and prepare insightful reports for various business units.
  • Respond promptly and efficiently to ad hoc data requests from stakeholders.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
  • Proven experience in a data analytics role, ideally within the insurance industry.
  • Comprehensive understanding of core insurance functions, general insurance principles, and statistical, financial, and economic concepts.
  • Proficiency in Excel, SQL, Python, R, and cloud technologies. Experience with GCP is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Looker, Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx, Crystal Reports, and Web Intelligence is an asset.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills with the ability to effectively interact with senior leadership.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to effectively resolve complex situations and demonstrate meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines consistently.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deliverables simultaneously.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Economics, Mathematics, Finance, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of four years of relevant work experience in data analytics.
