Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our Research and Development team. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing new mechanical systems and prototypes, as well as improving existing production equipment and processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop 3D CAD models of mechanical systems and parts for new equipment
  • Identify and implement improvements to production lines to increase safety and efficiency
  • Develop and implement solutions to technical problems
  • Support the implementation of new processes and technologies
  • Validate designs, calculations, and simulations
  • Perform tolerance testing of mechanical parts and assemblies
  • Analyze and solve technical problems
  • Optimize current equipment to increase production efficiencies
  • Prepare test bench marking
  • Procure parts and materials
  • Participate in the physical assembly of equipment and prototypes
  • Supervise and mentor other engineers and designers
  • Participate in project timeline and budget building

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in mechanical engineering or a related field
  • University degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  • Engineer-in-training (EIT) or member of the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ)
  • Excellent expertise in SolidWorks
  • Innovative mind and ability to work as a team
  • Previous experience with conveyor systems
  • Availability to travel occasionally in Quebec, Ontario, and the USA (20% of the time)
  • Bilingual English/French - spoken and written
  • Previous experience or knowledge in welding, machining, or other metalworking
