About the Role:

We are currently seeking an experienced Asphalt Raker to work seasonally in a full-time capacity, in various locations throughout Edmonton. The successful candidate must be able to align with the company's core values: Commitment, Attitude, and Respect.

Key Responsibilities:

• Spread asphalt using efficient techniques and maintain the required pace for the job.

• Perform a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor and use of hands and tools.

• Maintain and clean the job site, pick up tools and equipment to eliminate potential hazards.

• Other duties as required.

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of experience in Asphalt Raking supporting Paving Crews is required.

• Minimum 1 year of laborer experience assisting crews and operating construction equipment is required.

• Knowledge of the safe operation of associated tools and municipal road building industry is required.

• Willingness and ability to perform strenuous physical work for prolonged periods of time and weekends often under pressure is required.

• Must possess a valid Class 5 driver's license or above with a clean driver's abstract.

• High attention to detail, strong communication skills, and ability to follow directions is required.

• Ability to work in varying weather conditions is required.

• Ability to work collaboratively in a team and independently with little supervision is highly desirable.

• Valid safety certifications are required.

Additional Information:

This is a seasonal position and starts in the spring of every year. This position is eligible for overtime. Some travel outside of Edmonton may be required. Training will be provided for various activities. We offer excellent wages and benefits eligibility after 3 months, in which you may continue your benefits during the winter months (off-season). Potential on-call work during the winter months during snow removal and early spring sweeping season.
