Position Overview:
This is an exciting opportunity to become part of our Cardiology division as we introduce groundbreaking products to the Electrophysiology (EP) sector - one of the most rapidly expanding domains in medical technology. Boston Scientific is poised for several significant product launches in the U.S. aimed at treating patients with atrial fibrillation (AFib), including Cryo, Radiofrequency, and Pulsed Field ablation therapies. Our current offerings include advanced technologies such as 3D Mapping and Navigation systems, Radiofrequency Ablation catheters, Diagnostic Catheters, EP recording systems, and Intracardiac Access Sheaths for diagnosing and managing heart rhythm disorders.

The Electrophysiology Mapping Expert will dedicate their initial year to mastering Boston Scientific technologies while undergoing comprehensive professional development to ensure readiness for success in this practical, field-based position. Upon completion of training, the Electrophysiology Mapping Expert will deliver expert clinical product and technical support and training to physicians, EP Lab Staff, and sales representatives regarding the effective and safe utilization of the Rhythmia Mapping System during case procedures within a designated territory, while striving to meet and exceed business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain advanced clinical knowledge of EP diagnostic and ablation technologies, EP mapping and recording systems, transeptal access technologies, and left atrial appendage occlusion technologies.
  2. Attend procedures in cardiac CV/EP labs of hospital accounts for clinical support and development efforts of BSC AF Solutions products including Rhythmia HDx mapping system, LabSystem Pro recording system, transeptal access products, diagnostic and therapeutic catheters, and WATCHMAN LAAC technologies.
  3. Educate customers on the advantages and proper clinical application of AF Solutions products by creating and delivering presentations and demonstrations using a variety of formats and platforms (e.g., slides, transparencies, manuals) to keep all customers informed of the latest product, therapy, and technology advancements and current topics of interest in the industry.
  4. Meet with existing and potential customers (e.g., physicians, physician office groups at hospitals) by traveling (in an automobile or airplane) to identify their clinical needs, goals, and constraints related to patient care and to discuss and demonstrate and train them on how company products can assist them in achieving their objectives.
  5. Develop relationships with hospital personnel at all levels including staff, physicians, and administrators to establish new contacts in other departments within the hospital and to identify key decision-makers to facilitate future sales.
  6. Address customer needs and complaints regarding products and services by developing creative and feasible solutions or collaborating with other relevant personnel to devise optimal solutions.
  7. Demonstrate effective change leadership and build strategic partnerships to enhance the area/organization by leveraging relationships with peers, management, and across the AF Solutions organization.
  8. Implement and monitor strategies outlined by the quarterly plan of action for the area.
  9. Coordinate territory and other BSC sales management and representatives' efforts to build strategic partnerships that will further area and organizational and business objectives.
  10. Cultivate relationships with key referring physicians, external fellows, and other influential physicians to promote market development and growth.
  11. Train on and maintain knowledge of clinical trial protocols, Clinical Department standard operating procedures, and compliance with the regulations of worldwide regulatory bodies to meet corporate and departmental objectives.
  12. Manage clinical trial activity within the assigned territory, which includes but is not limited to completing Interest Visits and Site Initiation Visits.
  13. Educate clinical investigators on clinical trial protocols, clinical processes, and investigational products and features.

Required Qualifications:

  1. Minimum of 2 years of industry experience in medical device sales, clinical electrophysiology, or equivalent education and experience.
  2. Must demonstrate a technical aptitude and the ability to discuss and explain complex technical product information.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. NASPE/IBHRE CEPS certification.
  2. Work experience in Atrial Fibrillation/Cardiac Mapping/Structural Heart Procedure.
  3. Existing usage of 3D cardiac mapping system.
  4. MS or advanced degree in business or healthcare.
