About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Culinary Team Member to join our team at Kid's Mondo Childcare Centre Inc. as a Cook. This is a permanent position that requires a high level of attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Food Preparation and Service: Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods for our children and staff.
  • Food Safety and Quality: Inspect kitchens and food service areas to ensure a safe and healthy environment for our children and staff.
  • Staff Training and Development: Train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food to ensure consistency and quality.
  • Inventory Management: Order supplies and equipment, and maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment.
  • Cleaning and Maintenance: Clean kitchen and work areas to maintain a safe and healthy environment.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise kitchen staff and helpers to ensure a smooth and efficient operation.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent.
  • Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a similar role or equivalent experience.
  • Certifications: Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate, Safe Food Handling certificate, Food Safety Certificate, First Aid Certificate, and CPR Certificate.
  • Language: English.
Work Environment

This is a school or educational institution/establishment setting, and the successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment with a high level of attention to detail.
