Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Pastry Chef de Partie to join our team at Blue Water Cafe, a high-volume fine dining restaurant within the Toptable Group. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for creating and designing bread and cakes under the direction of the Pastry Chef.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and prepare high-quality bread and cakes for our menu
  • Assist in the preparation of daily prep items, ensuring high standards of quality and freshness
  • Maintain a clean and sanitized kitchen environment, adhering to provincial regulations
  • Contribute to product ordering and cost control, ensuring efficient inventory management
  • Collaborate with the Pastry Chef to develop new menu items and improve existing ones
  • Assist with cost control, monitoring, and ordering of supplies as required

Requirements:

  • At least three years of experience in a high-volume pastry kitchen, preferably in a fine dining environment
  • Completion of a recognized culinary program or equivalent experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with fluency in English
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, organize, and follow through on responsibilities
  • Passion for food and commitment to ongoing learning and development in baking and pastry arts
  • Food Safe certification is an asset
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and evenings
