As a key member of the healthcare team, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing leadership in team efforts to promote nutritional health and prevent disease.
Key Responsibilities- Provide expert nutrition advice and support to patients, families, and communities
- Lead team efforts to promote nutritional health and prevent disease
- Participate in the Integrated Dietetic Internship program, including preceptoring dietetic interns
- Collaborate with healthcare team providers to ensure quality and continuity of care
- Support a range of healthcare services within a holistic, client-centered framework
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Dietitian who possesses the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree with a major concentration in Foods and Nutrition
- Dietetic Internship Program completion
- Current registration with the Nova Scotia Dietetic Association
- Minimum one year of working experience as a Dietitian
- Inpatient clinical nutrition experience is an asset
- Competency in dysphagia management, enteral and parenteral nutrition
- Experience counseling patients in an outpatient setting
- Current WHMIS certification is an asset
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office computer applications
- Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to prioritize, problem-solve, and work under pressure
- Demonstrated participation in continuing education and skill upgrading
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary healthcare team
- Competencies in other languages are an asset, with French preferred
- Temporary Full-Time Long Assignment
- Shifts include days, nights, and weekends
