Position Overview

Agriville is seeking a dedicated Hydroponic Crop Specialist to oversee the growth and management of greenhouse crops. This role requires a strong understanding of hydroponic systems and the ability to maintain optimal growing conditions.

Education Requirements
  • Completion of College/CEGEP or equivalent experience is preferred.
Work Environment
  • Experience working in cold/refrigerated and hot environments.
Work Setting
  • Primarily in a greenhouse setting.
Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and manage insect, disease, and weed issues.
  • Assess and determine the type and quantity of crops to cultivate.
  • Establish and maintain the necessary environmental conditions for optimal growth.
  • Develop work schedules and manage staff assignments.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise team members.
  • Procure materials and stock as needed.
  • Oversee staff during planting, transplanting, feeding, and spraying activities.
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Supervise a team of more than 20 individuals.
Crops Managed
  • Focus on greenhouse tomatoes.
Transportation Requirements
  • Must have own transportation and a valid driver's license.
Physical and Work Conditions
  • Ability to distinguish colors and pay attention to detail.
  • Capable of working in a fast-paced environment with a large workload and tight deadlines.
  • Willingness to stand for extended periods and work under pressure.
