Mucci Farms is seeking a skilled Hydroponics Grower to join our team. As a Hydroponics Grower, you will be responsible for the cultivation of crops in a controlled environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Control and manage reported insect, disease, and weed problems to ensure crop health and quality.
- Determine the type and quantity of stock to grow, taking into account factors such as market demand and crop rotation.
- Establish and maintain the required environment for optimal crop growth, including temperature, humidity, and lighting.
- Establish work schedules and supervise staff in planting, transplanting, feeding, and spraying.
- Hire, train, and supervise staff to ensure efficient and effective crop production.
- Order materials and stock as needed to maintain a smooth operation.
- Supervise staff in the greenhouse, ensuring that all tasks are completed to a high standard.
- College/CEGEP education or equivalent experience.
- 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in a related field.
- Ability to distinguish between colors, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
- Valid driver's license and own transportation.
The Hydroponics Grower will work in a greenhouse environment, with exposure to cold and hot temperatures. The work schedule will be 44 to 50 hours per week, with the possibility of overtime.
