Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately transcribe and process clinician orders, ensuring timely communication and coordination with relevant departments.
- Organize and manage patient appointments, providing clear instructions and support to enhance the patient experience.
- Collect and prepare patient information to facilitate smooth clinical operations and assist the healthcare team.
- Perform essential receptionist duties, including greeting patients, managing inquiries, and ensuring effective communication.
- Assist in the onboarding and training of new staff, sharing knowledge and supporting their integration into the team.
- Uphold safety standards and contribute to a secure environment for patients and staff.
- Collaborate effectively as a member of the healthcare team, contributing to a positive workplace culture.
- Undertake additional duties as required to support unit operations.
Qualifications:
Candidates should possess:
- A high school diploma, completion of a recognized Nursing Unit Clerk Program, and at least one year of relevant experience.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Effective interpersonal skills to engage with diverse individuals.
- The physical capability to perform job-related tasks.
- Proficiency in keyboarding and familiarity with various computer applications.
- A commitment to understanding and promoting Indigenous cultural safety and reconciliation efforts.
