The RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lab Technician to join our team at KMH Cardiology Centres Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting physician practices and facilitating patient intake through timely, high-quality, and efficient administrative care.
Key Responsibilities- Patient Intake
- Coordination of daily clinic operations
- Management of Physician orders
- Utilize Tableau daily to facilitate KPI attainment
- Meet and achieve established KPI's
- Tasks Management including Chart Checks and Report Uploads
- Perform ECG, Holter, and Blood Pressure Monitor Hook up as-needed
- Respond to patient enquiries on a timely basis
- Missed appointment follow up
- Inform and educate patients about tests and procedures as requested by physician
- Process prescription renewal requests as directed by physician in collaboration with administrative staff within recommended timelines
- Optimize clinic capacity
- Foster a collegial, respectful clinic environment
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure best patient experience and outcomes
- Graduate of an approved Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent
- Lab Technician (certified)
- Medical administration experience
- Clinic experience is an asset
- Proven ability to work proficiently in a busy fast-paced specialist clinic environment
- Self-directed, detail-oriented with an ability to multitask, establish priorities, and achieve objectives with minimal supervision
- BLS
- Phlebotomy experience is an asset
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Superior telephone etiquette
- Strong conflict resolution skills
- Proficiency in technology including MS Office and EMR systems experience
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Possesses effective analytical and problem-solving skills
- Able to deal with sensitive information with a high degree of diplomacy
- Team orientation
- The ability to provide coverage at both Markham and Scarborough
- Cantonese Mandarin, Farsi, or Arabic language skills are an asset

This is a full-time role scheduled for 5 days and 37.5 hours per week (between Monday-Saturday) during the hours of 8.00 a.m.-4.00 p.m. or 9.00 a.m.- 5.00/5.30 p.m. This position reports to the Team Lead: Patient Care Coordinators.
