About the Opportunity

The Department of Child and Adolescent Mental Health in Sydney is seeking a full-time child and adolescent psychiatrist to work collaboratively with other clinical teams. The successful candidate will participate in teaching through the Family Medicine Residency Program based in Sydney and/or with medical students through Dalhousie University.

Cape Breton Regional Hospital (CBRH) is a leading healthcare provider in Nova Scotia, serving over 100,000 patients annually. The hospital offers a range of primary and secondary services through in-patient, outpatient, and community-based programs.

Responsibilities
  • Provide care to outpatient clinics for patients under the age of 18
  • Participate in program development, such as the Behaviour Disorders and Early Psychosis Intensive Program
  • Offer consultations to other physicians and rural clinics
  • Contribute to and participate in teaching programs and activities
  • Contribute to and participate in other administrative responsibilities as assigned
Expected Hours
  • Full-time
  • On-call requirement
Qualifications
  • All applicants must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS)
  • All specialists must be eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC)
  • Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)
