About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Planning Associate to join our team at ScotiaMcLeod. As a key member of our Wealth Management team, you will play a critical role in providing financial planning support to our dedicated Wealth Advisors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Champion a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
  • Proactively support the financial planning needs of our Advisors' assigned clients, including deep discovery, plan preparation, and presentation.
  • Build financial plans that address clients' immediate and future goals and objectives, providing alternative scenarios or solutions when necessary.
  • Identify and communicate referral opportunities to Advisors and contribute to ongoing professional practice through participation in monthly Total Wealth Planning calls.
  • Provide general support to Wealth Advisors and teams by sharing updates on financial planning trends and strategic recommendations.
Requirements
  • CFP Designation required.
  • In-depth understanding of the comprehensive financial planning process, including investments, asset protection, retirement, estate planning, and tax issues.
  • College or University degree.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite, specifically Word and Excel.
  • Advanced understanding of financial planning software and ability to model complex strategies.
  • Experience in Total Wealth Planning engagement from client discovery to plan presentation delivery.
  • Experience in a client-facing role with opportunity to provide financial advice.
  • Canadian Securities Course and/or Life Insurance License is an asset.
