Job Summary

Kina Gbezhgomi Child and Family Services is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to fill the role of Jordan's Principle Service Coordinator. This position plays a critical role in supporting the well-being of Indigenous children and families by coordinating services and advocating for their needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Service Coordination: Act as a focal point for children and families, providing service coordination and planning in cooperation with other agency personnel.
  • Documentation Review: Review all Jordan's Principle documentation related to service and financial accessibility from an agency perspective.
  • Process Improvement: Familiarize yourself with agency and Jordan's Principle service coordination and planning processes, and make recommendations to modify the process to the Program Supervisor.
  • Reporting and Data Management: Assist in developing agency Jordan's Principle reporting templates, track and maintain statistical data, and complete monthly, quarterly, and annual reports as required.
  • Community Liaison: Liaise and work effectively with communities served, service providers, collateral agencies, and organizations to secure supporting documentation for applications.
  • Family Support: Work in collaboration with families served to empower advocacy and assist in navigating the Jordan's Principle application process.
  • Education and Training: Act as a liaison and provide education and information sessions to agency staff in relation to Jordan's Principle.
Requirements
  • Education: University degree or college diploma in a field related to Human Services, Education, or Social Work.
  • Experience: Minimum of one-year direct service experience with children and families, and experience working with Indigenous people, organizations, and communities.
  • Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work effectively in a team environment, and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
