About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional to join our team as a Grocery Category Manager. As a key member of our buying team, you will be responsible for driving sales and profits through effective category management, supplier negotiations, and strategic planning.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Category Management: Develop and execute strategies to drive sales and profits across our grocery categories, ensuring we maintain a competitive edge in the market.
  2. Supplier Negotiations: Source new items, negotiate costs, discounts, and advertising support with suppliers to optimize our product assortment and pricing.
  3. Strategic Planning: Analyze market trends, customer needs, and company objectives to determine our product assortment and develop effective advertising, merchandising, and store marketing plans.
  4. Team Leadership: Lead and motivate a team of category managers to achieve sales and profit targets, while fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
Requirements
  1. Experience: 3-5 years of grocery buying experience, managing large portfolios, with a proven track record of driving sales and profits.
  2. Education: Post-secondary education in a related field, such as business, marketing, or supply chain management.
  3. Skills: Strong negotiation skills, analysis and planning abilities, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to manage and motivate a team.
  4. Computer Skills: Proficiency in Excel, Word, and proprietary I.S. systems, with the ability to learn new systems quickly.
  5. Language: Bilingualism (English and French) is considered an asset.
