**Job Summary**

As an Assistant Grocery Store Manager at Metro, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our grocery department. This is a challenging and rewarding position that requires strong leadership and communication skills.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Assist the Grocery Store Manager in supervising, directing, and motivating staff to achieve sales and customer service goals.
  • Receive, price, stock, rotate, and merchandise products to ensure a visually appealing and well-stocked store.
  • Order a full range of products and assist in taking inventory to maintain accurate stock levels.
  • Implement and ensure adherence to Metro's Customer Service Policy to provide exceptional customer experiences.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures, as well as government regulations concerning health and safety, sanitation, security, and other relevant areas.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Grocery Store Manager.

**Requirements**

  • High school graduate or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Minimum 2 years' grocery/supervisory experience, including excellent product knowledge and rotation, merchandising, ordering, and inventory control experience.
  • Superior customer service, supervisory, and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Capable of standing for a prolonged period of 4-8 hours, bending, twisting, and turning, and lifting up to 55 lbs.
  • Available to work 40 hours per week, up to 3 evenings per week, 5 shifts of 8 hours or 4 shifts of 10 hours, with Saturday and Sunday as part of the regular work week.
