Position Overview

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Establish requirements for injection molding operations and automation, from initial concept assessment to full-scale production. This includes the creation of specific documentation and procedures related to molding.
  2. Formulate specifications for component design, machine settings, operational procedures, and testing plans to ensure product quality and compliance.
  3. Offer technological insights to facilitate product development and enhance manufacturability.
  4. Collaborate with vendors and plant personnel to ensure project goals are met effectively.
  5. Exhibit a comprehensive understanding of various technical principles and concepts relevant to manufacturing technologies.
  6. Maintain a general awareness of alternative process technologies.
  7. Deliver innovative and practical solutions to complex technical challenges.
  8. Coordinate and oversee tooling design and injection molding process development activities, ensuring smooth integration into production facilities.
  9. Engage with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve significant manufacturing challenges.
  10. Design and implement validation protocols (IQ, OQ, PQ), engineering studies, and experimental designs.
  11. Manage projects from the design phase through to prototype development and commercial launch, ensuring efficient execution at every stage.
  12. Lead interdisciplinary teams to effectively define, construct, and validate mold development programs.
  13. Create specifications and acceptance criteria for the procurement of production injection molds.
  14. Oversee vendor collaboration in the design, development, and execution of injection molds.
  15. Utilize six-sigma and lean manufacturing techniques to enhance injection molding processes.
  16. Develop processes through experimental testing, data analysis, report preparation, and actionable recommendations.
  17. Contribute to the technical strategy of projects.

Key Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  2. Robust technical expertise in plastic manufacturing processes, encompassing quality assurance, safety protocols, machine operation, troubleshooting, and production efficiency.
  3. Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and process improvement strategies.
  4. Strong problem-solving abilities, along with skills in lean methodologies and project management.
  5. Thorough understanding of plastics extrusion and injection molding processes.
