Position Overview
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish requirements for injection molding operations and automation, from initial concept assessment to full-scale production. This involves creating specific documentation and procedures related to molding.
- Formulate specifications for component design, machine settings, operational guidelines, and validation testing plans.
- Offer technological insights to support product innovation and ensure manufacturability.
- Collaborate with vendors and plant technicians to achieve project goals effectively.
- Exhibit a comprehensive understanding of various technical principles, theories, and concepts relevant to manufacturing technology.
- Maintain a general knowledge of additional process technologies.
- Deliver technical solutions for complex challenges, ensuring they are creative, thorough, and practical.
- Facilitate communication and coordination in tool design and injection molding process development, including validation activities in manufacturing sites.
- Engage with cross-functional teams to analyze and resolve significant manufacturing challenges.
- Design and implement validation protocols (IQ, OQ, PQ), engineering studies, and experimental designs.
- Effectively manage projects from design and prototyping through to commercial launch, including all phases of project management.
- Lead cross-functional teams to define, construct, and validate mold build programs successfully.
- Create specifications and acceptance criteria for the procurement of production injection molds.
- Oversee vendor relationships in the design, development, and execution of injection molds.
- Utilize six-sigma and lean manufacturing principles to enhance injection molding processes.
- Develop processes through experimental testing, data analysis, report preparation, and recommendations.
- Contribute to the technical strategy of projects.
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
- Robust technical expertise in plastic manufacturing, encompassing quality, safety, machine operations, troubleshooting, and productivity.
- Familiarity with lean methodologies and process improvement.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, along with skills in lean manufacturing and project management.
- Solid grasp of plastics extrusion and/or injection molding processes.
