Position Summary: We are seeking a dedicated Product Development Engineer or Mechanical Engineer to join our innovative team. This role is based in a state-of-the-art facility where advanced technologies are utilized, including the automated Cocoon Platform, designed for scalable cell therapy manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enhance product quality and reliability while improving manufacturing efficiency and production outcomes through design modifications.
  • Investigate product issues and non-conformances, conducting thorough root cause analyses and proposing timely corrective actions.
  • Review and assess existing product designs, identifying areas for improvement and implementing effective solutions.
  • Lead complex design updates and corrective actions within a collaborative, cross-functional team environment.
  • Develop strategies for verifying design corrections and actively participate in verification processes.
  • Create and review essential technical documentation, including investigative reports, conceptual designs, and mechanical drawings, in compliance with ISO 13485 standards.
  • Employ a risk-based approach to product design activities, utilizing xFMEA methodologies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Systems, Mechanical, Biomedical, or related fields); a Master's degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in product design within regulated industries, particularly in medical devices or related fields.
  • In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes, including machining, injection molding, and 3D printing.
  • Extensive experience with CAD systems, preferably SolidWorks.
  • Proven design experience focused on Design for Manufacturing and Design for Assembly principles.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented with hands-on mechanical aptitude, including proficiency with common shop tools and measurement equipment.
  • Experience in providing technical leadership for projects involving cross-functional teams (Quality, Design Transfer, and Manufacturing).
