Job Title: Laboratory Assistant Data Entry Clerk

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Laboratory Assistant Data Entry Clerk to join our team at PHSA. As a Laboratory Assistant Data Entry Clerk, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to our laboratory team, including data entry, specimen processing, and receptionist duties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive and process patient specimens, including labeling and sorting for testing
  • Enter patient data into our computer system, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail
  • Perform receptionist duties, including answering phones, responding to inquiries, and relaying messages
  • Prepare and print reports, labels, and other documents as required
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to laboratory safety protocols
  • Collaborate with laboratory staff to ensure efficient and effective specimen processing and testing

Requirements:

  • Grade 12 and completion of a recognized Lab Assistant training program, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
  • Physical ability to perform duties, including standing for long periods and lifting specimens
