LOCATION

Situated approximately 100 kilometers east of Toronto, NHH is a dynamic community hospital providing a comprehensive array of acute, post-acute, outpatient, and diagnostic services. We serve a growing population of over 60,000 residents across both urban and rural environments, employing around 750 staff members and benefiting from a highly engaged network of physicians, midwives, and volunteers.

ROLE OVERVIEW

Reporting to the Director of Diagnostic Imaging and accountable to the Chief of Diagnostic Imaging, the successful candidate will be tasked with conducting various ultrasound examinations.

Responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating closely with the medical personnel at NHH.
  • Demonstrating proficiency in performing all types of diagnostic ultrasound procedures.
  • Assisting with various interventional ultrasound procedures, such as ultrasound-guided biopsies.
  • Participating in the after-hours on-call rotation, which includes evenings, nights, weekends, and statutory holidays, with a required 30-minute response time.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

Required Qualifications:

  • Registration with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO) in good standing.
  • Membership in Sonography Canada.
  • Strong communication, organizational, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven record of good attendance and the ability to maintain this standard.
  • Capability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Professional and appropriate response in high-stress and emergency situations.
  • Ability to assist patients during transfers to and from the ultrasound table/stretcher and potentially move or transport hospital-related equipment.

ASSETS

  • Previous experience in a hospital environment.
  • Recent experience with EPIC or electronic documentation in a healthcare setting.
  • Familiarity with Picture Archive Communication Systems (PACS), Hospital Information Systems (HIS), and Radiology Information Systems (RIS).

EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS

Successful candidates must provide a satisfactory vulnerable sector criminal reference check completed within the past year. This requirement must be fulfilled within the first sixty (60) days of employment.

Additionally, candidates are required to complete the Health Care Worker Health review process, which includes submitting an up-to-date immunization record to ensure compliance with the Ontario Hospital Association Communicable Diseases Surveillance Protocols within the first thirty (30) days of employment. Northumberland Hills Hospital enforces a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy for all staff.
