Accounts Payable Specialist

ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a dedicated Accounts Payable Specialist to join our dynamic Accounting team. In this position, you will play a crucial role in supporting our Business Units by ensuring the accurate processing of invoices and timely issuance of payments.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
As an Accounts Payable Specialist, your responsibilities will include:
- Managing the receipt and distribution of electronic invoices;
- Verifying and transferring invoices to the appropriate review and processing systems;
- Assigning invoices to the correct approvers;
- Validating invoice approvals to ensure compliance with established procedures and controls;
- Preparing payment lists;
- Creating accounting entries;
- Responding to inquiries from internal personnel and external suppliers;
- Verifying supplier statements;
- Performing any other related tasks as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
- AEC or DEC in Accounting is required.
Experience:
- A minimum of one (1) year of relevant experience in accounts payable or a similar role.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills;
- Ability to meet tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy;
- High level of confidentiality in handling sensitive information;
- Strong customer service orientation;
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team;
- Proficiency in MS Excel (intermediate level) is an asset.
LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS
- Bilingualism in French and English, both written and spoken, is essential as the role involves communication with English-speaking regions.
