We are seeking a skilled Sushi Chef to join our team at Hyack Sushi. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking high-quality sushi dishes for our customers.
Key Responsibilities:- Plan and prepare menus, estimating food requirements for efficient realization.
- Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods, adhering to high standards of quality and presentation.
- Inspect kitchens and food service areas to ensure cleanliness and organization.
- Train kitchen staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food, promoting a culture of excellence and teamwork.
- Order supplies and equipment, maintaining inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment.
- Supervise kitchen staff and helpers, providing guidance and support to ensure seamless kitchen operations.
- 2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
- Strong attention to detail, with a focus on quality and presentation.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing menu items, kitchen schedules, and customer demands.
- Team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Our kitchen is a fast-paced environment with a focus on quality and customer satisfaction. As a Sushi Chef, you will be required to work in a standing position for extended periods, with regular breaks to maintain productivity and safety.
Language:The primary language of communication in our kitchen is English. Proficiency in Japanese cuisine and culture is an asset, but not required.Work Schedule:
We offer a permanent position with a 30-40 hour workweek, with opportunities for overtime and career advancement.
