Join Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) as a Clinical Informatics Analyst/Administrative Assistant

Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a Clinical Informatics Analyst/Administrative Assistant to enhance our Clinical Informatics Team. This role is essential in supporting our mission to provide exceptional healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver analytical assistance to the Clinical Informatics team, focusing on data interpretation, statistical reporting, benchmarking initiatives, and generating queries while preparing comprehensive reports and technical documentation using various software tools. Offer confidential administrative and secretarial support to the Executive Director of Clinical Informatics and the broader Clinical Informatics team. Manage the appointment schedules of the Manager and management team, coordinate meetings, and handle information processing and prioritization, including sensitive and confidential inquiries. Operate independently while collaborating with other Executive Directors, Managers, and staff across all organizational levels. Collaborate effectively with other departments within VCH, such as the Decision Support team, and act as a liaison with external organizations to facilitate information flow, keeping the Executive Director informed of pertinent issues and activities.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience

Diploma in a relevant field. Three to four (3-4) years of recent, relevant experience in a complex healthcare setting, with progressively responsible roles in administrative support for senior management, experience in data analysis and benchmarking, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Proficient computer skills in spreadsheet, database, graphics, and word processing applications are essential, including Microsoft Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word, and Visio.

Knowledge & Skills:

Demonstrates expertise in utilizing desktop applications to produce a variety of documents, reports, and presentations, and to maintain databases. Applies acquired skills and knowledge to effectively and independently resolve administrative challenges. Exhibits strong verbal and written communication skills when providing or seeking information. Enhances departmental efficiency and contributes to organizational success by applying excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks and manage schedules. Maintains diligence and accuracy when handling, monitoring, and summarizing data, records, and budget information.
