Position Overview: This role is pivotal and encompasses a variety of responsibilities. The ideal candidate will play a significant role in several actuarial projects, including supporting the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) function for the branch, managing inforce operations, and conducting performance evaluations. Additionally, the candidate will contribute to strategic efforts aimed at improving business performance analytics and assisting both local and Group management, along with various departments within SCOR.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and refine the IFRS17 Strategic Plan along with its KPIs, consolidating financial planning data, cash flows, and analyses to support SCOR's Operating Plan objectives.
  • Collaborate with Group FP&A to facilitate quarterly reporting under IFRS17 and SII reporting standards, including the analysis and monitoring of actual results against the target Operational Plan.
  • Lead the quarterly landing process, ensuring effective communication of performance analytics to essential stakeholders.
  • Work closely with other teams, including local Finance for FP&A and financial reporting, Operations for quarterly actuals and closing processes, and Pricing for monitoring inforce and new business trends.
  • Create business performance analytics and assist in preparing quarterly management reports, which include volume reports and financial dashboards to track business trends.
  • Develop specific business performance analytics to support both local and Group strategic initiatives.
  • Assist with other L&H Reserving projects as required.
  • Collaborate with all key partners at SCOR to achieve shared objectives.

Candidate Profile: The successful candidate will possess relevant corporate actuarial experience, expertise in IFRS17, and knowledge of AXIS software. Additionally, the candidate should be able to effectively communicate results and their implications to key stakeholders while demonstrating an innovative approach to resolving complex actuarial challenges and enhancing overall process efficiencies.

Essential Qualifications:

  • ASA/ACIA (or FSA/FCIA, though not mandatory) actuary with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the insurance or reinsurance sector.
  • Strong understanding of actuarial and financial reporting, FP&A, and financial analytics.
  • Proven ability to think ahead and analyze problems, connecting them to broader business objectives and proposing well-considered solutions.
  • Highly organized and self-motivated individual who thrives in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated capability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
  • Innovative and creative in suggesting new methodologies for work processes.
  • Ability to excel in a dynamic team setting within a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with a track record of effective communication across various organizational levels.
  • Familiarity with AXIS software.
  • Knowledge of data-driven applications (e.g., Python, SAS, PowerBI) is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in French is considered a plus, although not a requirement.
