Clinical Instructor

Vancouver Island University is seeking a qualified Clinical/Lab Instructor to join our Nursing Program. As a key member of our faculty team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction, designing and grading student assignments and tests, and facilitating student integration of theory and practice.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and deliver classes, ensuring a dynamic and engaging learning environment
- Design and grade student assignments and tests, promoting critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Facilitate student integration of theory and practice, fostering a deep understanding of nursing concepts and principles
- Participate in program and faculty meetings, contributing to the development of curriculum and instructional strategies
- Liaise with support staff, other staff, and faculty to ensure seamless program operations
- Completed BSN Degree from an accredited institution and current practicing membership in good standing with the BCCNM
- Five years of full-time recent practice experience in different contexts of care
- Ability to meet the needs of a diverse student population
- Demonstrated ability to work with a dynamic and creative program team
- Proficiency with the application and integration of information technology to teaching
- Experience with, and knowledge of, Indigenous ways of knowing and being
- Valid Class 5 BC Driver's License and confirmed satisfactory driving record
- Experience as a clinical educator
- PhD from an accredited institution, or a Master's degree from an accredited institution and three years teaching experience
