Role Overview

The Business Intelligence Analyst will play a crucial role in the BI Lifecycle, engaging in the collection of business requirements, conducting data exploration, and identifying data interconnections. This position involves supporting data model design and generating insightful user reports.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engaging in the BI Lifecycle by gathering business requirements and performing data exploration.
  • Utilizing technical skills in Business Intelligence for data mining and validation across various source systems.
  • Interpreting complex datasets to identify trends and their implications, converting them into actionable business insights.
  • Defining, designing, and documenting operational KPIs to align with and monitor strategic objectives.
  • Employing tools such as IBM Cognos Analytics, SQL Server Management Studio, PowerBI, and Excel to analyze performance discrepancies.
  • Creating compelling data visualizations across all BI platforms to effectively convey findings.
  • Leveraging analytical expertise, business insight, and narrative skills to present results and solutions to leadership.
  • Investigating new insights through analytical experimentation.

Qualifications

  • Experience in the insurance sector is preferred but not essential.
  • 3-5 years of experience as a BI Analyst.
  • Familiarity with analytical methodologies and techniques.
  • Proficient in SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
  • Experience with BI tools such as IBM Cognos Analytics and Power BI.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of engaging with both business and IT teams.
  • A degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field is advantageous.
