Role Overview
The Business Intelligence Analyst will play a crucial role in enhancing data-driven decision-making processes within the organization. This position involves engaging in the complete BI lifecycle, from gathering business requirements to delivering insightful reports.
Key Responsibilities
- Engaging in the BI lifecycle by collecting business requirements, conducting data exploration, identifying data interconnections, aiding in data model design, and generating user-focused reports.
- Utilizing technical Business Intelligence expertise for data mining and validation across various source systems.
- Examining intricate data sets to uncover trends, assess their importance, and convert them into actionable business insights.
- Establishing, designing, developing, and documenting operational KPIs to support and evaluate strategic objectives.
- Employing tools such as IBM Cognos Analytics, SQL Server Management Studio, PowerBI, and Excel to analyze and interpret performance variances.
- Creating impactful data visualizations across all BI platforms to effectively convey findings.
- Leveraging analytical skills, business insight, and storytelling techniques to interpret results and present recommendations to leadership.
- Investigating new insights through analytical experimentation.
Qualifications
- Experience in the insurance sector is preferred but not essential.
- 3-5 years of experience as a BI Analyst.
- Familiarity with analytical methodologies and techniques.
- Proficient in SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
- Experience with BI tools such as IBM Cognos Analytics and Power BI.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the capability to collaborate with both business and IT teams.
- A degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field is advantageous.
