About the Role

Business Intelligence Analyst

Western Financial Group is seeking a highly skilled Business Intelligence Analyst to join our team. As a Business Intelligence Analyst, you will play a critical role in delivering timely and meaningful reports, dashboards, and strategic analyses to support our senior leadership team.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Data Analysis and Reporting

Deliver high-quality data analysis and reporting to support business decision-making. This includes gathering business requirements, performing data discovery, identifying relationships within the data, and creating end-user reports.

Business Intelligence Skills

Apply technical business intelligence skills to data mining and data verification in multiple source systems. This includes using tools such as IBM Cognos Analytics, SQL Server Management Studio, PowerBI, and Excel to identify, analyze, and interpret areas performing outside of expected results.

Data Visualization

Create data visualizations in all available business intelligence tools to clearly communicate results. This includes using storytelling abilities to interpret results and present problem solutions to leadership.

Business Acumen

Apply analytical skills, business acumen, and storytelling abilities to interpreting results and presenting problem solutions to leadership.

Continuous Improvement

Discover new insights through experimentation and continuous improvement of business intelligence processes.

Requirements
  1. Insurance Industry Experience

Insurance industry experience is an asset but not required.

BI Analyst Experience

3-5 years related experience as a BI Analyst.

Analytics Methodologies

Knowledge of analytics methodologies and techniques.

SQL Proficiency

Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and manipulation.

Business Intelligence Tools

Experience working with business intelligence tools such as IBM Cognos Analytics and Power BI.

Communication Skills

Strong time management skills and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously. Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills, and ability to interface with the Business and IT organizations.

Education

Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field an asset.
