Offshore Accounting Specialist

Position Overview
EDF Renewables North America stands as a premier independent power producer and service provider, boasting over 35 years of industry expertise. Our focus encompasses grid-scale energy solutions, including wind (both onshore and offshore), solar photovoltaic, and storage projects. We also provide distribution-scale energy solutions through solar and storage, alongside asset optimization services that enhance the performance of generating projects. Our PowerFlex affiliate offers a comprehensive suite of onsite energy solutions tailored for commercial and industrial clients, including solar, storage, EV charging, energy management systems, and microgrids.
The Offshore Accounting Specialist will be integral in managing accounting functions, coordinating audit requests, conducting analysis, and preparing financial reports as necessary. This role will support the preparation of balance sheet reconciliations, manage accruals, analyze profit and loss statements, and facilitate cash flow statement reviews (when applicable), along with processing standardized month-end journal entries in accordance with IFRS and other financial data assessments.
Key Responsibilities
Engage actively in assigned roles related to the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes, ensuring that tasks are completed accurately and on time, including journal entries and ledger maintenance. Complete designated schedules and workpapers, ensuring that relevant account reconciliations are performed accurately and promptly. Reconcile invoices from related parties, including tracking timesheet consumption, and ensure that all supporting documentation is secured. Prepare capital call requests for shareholders and reconcile capital accounts. Undertake additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the direct supervisor or their designee.Required Qualifications
Education and Experience –
A Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in accounting or finance. Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation, either in-progress or completed, OR legacy Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), or Certified General Accountant (CGA) designation. A minimum of 2-5 years of experience within an accounting department, preferably in public practice from a mid-tier or Big 4 CA/CPA firm. High proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel. Proven ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.Skills and Competencies
Exceptional administrative, organizational, and communication skills are essential. Strong interpersonal abilities. Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills. Experience in a fast-paced work environment. Capability to manage time effectively and work under tight deadlines.Work Environment
This position requires in-person work three days a week in a downtown office setting, with the flexibility to work remotely or in the office at the employee's discretion for the remaining days.
