About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Hydroelectric Design Engineer to join our team at ANDRITZ AG. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for creating 3D models and 2D drawings for our hydroelectric equipment, ensuring that they meet customer specifications and internal design standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare 3D models and 2D drawings from references, sketches, or based on instructions from engineers or senior designers.
  • Create drawing-associated material lists.
  • Review drawings and material lists to check for errors and ensure compliance with customer specifications and internal design standards.
  • Ensure that designs can be manufactured, are transportable, and operational. As needed, propose design improvements to reduce costs and improve quality.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities.
  • Enter data into the material resource planning system (SAP).
  • Perform drawings revisions.
  • Responsible for the execution time of your own work. Participate in schedule updates.
  • Responsible for the quality and precision of your work.
Requirements
  • College degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Good knowledge of heavy mechanical equipment, welded structures, methods of manufacturing and machining, as well as drafting rules and practices.
  • Strong background in 3D design.
  • Autonomous.
  • Teamwork skills.
  • Fluency in French and English.
  • Knowledge of Unigraphics NX8, Teamcenter, and SAP an asset.
  • Knowledge of hydro turbine (turbine and generator) an asset.
