Position Overview
The successful candidate will play a crucial role in overseeing project management and engineering activities. Responsibilities include:
- Ensuring compliance with corporate protocols related to project oversight and administration.
- Collaborating with various departments to guarantee access to the latest practices in budgeting, estimating, and scheduling.
- Engaging with engineering teams both internally and externally to share insights on design improvements and methodologies.
- Facilitating communication with regulatory bodies and external agencies to ensure effective project execution.
- Organizing and leading meetings with relevant stakeholders to discuss project progress and objectives.
- Directing discussions with internal staff, contractors, and suppliers to achieve project goals efficiently.
- Meeting with consultants and contractors to advocate for modifications that align with corporate standards.
- Assisting in the disposal of surplus equipment from canceled projects and negotiating with potential buyers.
- Preparing and coordinating project-related information for planning processes and alternative evaluations.
- Compiling project assessment reports and assisting in preliminary project studies.
- Supporting the preparation of submissions for project approvals and funding releases.
- Initiating and coordinating project control schedules, cost estimates, and performance specifications; monitoring changes and reporting on project status.
- Managing applications for necessary approvals, licenses, and permits, while advocating for favorable regulatory changes.
- Overseeing the clarification of design requirements and coordinating necessary adjustments.
- Organizing meetings to align design, supplier, construction, and operational requirements.
- Maintaining close communication with field operations regarding design, scheduling, and cost issues.
- Providing management with timely updates on project progress.
- Analyzing cost variance reports and recommending corrective actions as needed.
- Executing additional project management duties as per corporate policies.
- Guiding and supervising staff involved in project activities, ensuring effective work organization and performance assessment.
- Coordinating all phases of project engineering from inception to final acceptance.
- Conducting site visits and evaluations of techniques and equipment.
- Utilizing insights gained for the benefit of the organization.
Qualifications
Education
- A four-year degree in a relevant field is required.
Experience
- A background in a supervisory capacity, particularly in coordinating design and development for major facilities.
- Proven experience in project management is essential.
- A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience is necessary to fulfill the requirements of this role.
