About the Role:

The Associate Private Banker is a key member of our Private Banking team, responsible for supporting the management and development of client relationships through the sound administration of assigned accounts and the delivery of exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Client Relationship Management:
    • Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of each client relationship, including their financial strength, banking requirements, and future goals and direction.
    • Establish and maintain harmonious relationships with affluent and influential clients, ensuring their needs are met promptly and resourcefully.
    • Respond quickly and resourcefully to client requests, management, and senior Bank officers.
  • Portfolio Growth and Profitability:
    • Develop and maintain a full knowledge and understanding of Bank products and services, as well as competitor products and services.
    • Assist in monitoring and analyzing each account to ensure optimum profitability, including preparing detailed proposals for correcting revenue deficiencies.
    • Assist in designing profitable, effective, and competitive banking proposals for existing clients.
    • Maintain regular contact with existing clients to ensure effective management retention and expansion of banking relationships.
  • Operational Effectiveness:
    • Work closely with Assistant Branch Manager to ensure Bank policies and procedures are followed.
    • Organize workflows to maintain maximum efficiency.
    • Prepare returns and correspondence in an accurate and timely manner.
    • Comply with regulatory requirements, including Know Your Client (KYC), Canada Deposit Insurance Corporation (CDIC), Financial Consumer Agency of Canada (FCAC), Anti-Money Laundering/Anti-Terrorist Financing (AML/ATF), Privacy, and Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) requirements.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of commercial or retail banking experience, with a strong understanding of commercial credit principles.
  • University or community college degree preferred.
  • Good understanding of tax, estate, and financial planning, as well as investment vehicles.
  • Ability to relate comfortably with affluent and influential clients in both a business and social context, demonstrating poise and professionalism at all times.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop solid relationships with the client base.
  • Thorough knowledge of all Retail Bank products and services, as well as commercial and retail credit principles.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to adapt to a wide variety of tasks and functions.
  • Bilingual English and Spanish.
