Axelon Services Corporation is seeking an experienced Project Manager for a contract opportunity.
This position operates on a Hybrid Schedule.

Candidates must have reliable internet, a computer, and an Android or iPhone for remote access to client systems during work-from-home periods.

The expectation is to be in the office three days a week, based on team requirements.

Position Overview:

We are looking for a project/program management professional with a minimum of 5 years of proven experience in PMO or Program/Portfolio Management within the Technology, Banking, or Consultancy sectors.

In this dynamic environment, the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines is essential. Attention to detail and strong oral and written communication skills are critical for success in this role.

Familiarity with documentation preparation and review, as well as a solid understanding of SDLC methodologies (Agile & Iterative), is required.

Role Responsibilities:
This position entails the following key responsibilities:
- Establish best practices and client-approved PPM procedures at the organizational PMO level.
- Ensure project delivery aligns with client SDLC procedures, including various regulatory and compliance mandates.
- Manage release cycles, write project documentation, and handle other project administrative tasks.
- Coordinate projects across several areas within the Equities program/project portfolio.
- Assist technology leads and project managers in overseeing a large portfolio of programs and projects.
- Promote a culture of SDLC best practices throughout the technology group.
- Maintain existing departmental and Project Office policies and procedures.
- Continuously update and enhance project methodologies, providing mentoring and training to other project managers and acting as a subject matter expert.
- Organize and facilitate project closure and conduct benefit analysis at the project's conclusion.
- Collaborate with various teams, including COO, Technology Central Business Office, Technology Leads, and Management Office, to provide insightful financial and business analyses and develop senior management reports, defining and tracking key operational/program metrics to drive business decisions.
- Utilize advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills for effective reporting and documentation, including dashboards and scorecards.
- Communicate issues, risks, and progress on complex processes to multiple stakeholders with clarity and confidence.
- Work independently and productively without supervision while managing multiple concurrent projects.
- Structure, summarize, defend, and present recommendations with confidence.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of relevant experience with PMP or similar certification; 7+ years of relevant experience without certification.

Skills Required:
- Expert-level experience with SDLC processes, including Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
- Proficient in managing projects, tasks, workflows, and reporting using Jira.
- Comfortable using project management tools such as PTS, Planview, and Clarity.
- Strong analytical and data mining skills.
- Excellent listening, presentation, communication, and influencing skills, with the ability to articulate confidently to senior management.
- Strong team player with a keen attention to detail in supporting management reporting through clear and concise data analysis and presentation.
- Highly motivated, self-directed, and exhibits thought leadership and strong critical thinking skills.
- Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with large project management data sets to uncover insights.
- PMP or CAPM certification.
- Agile certification.
